RATES
  • Square Inch Price
I charge 2 cents per square inch for a typical pantograph design. Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80 = 4800 x .02 = $96.00. My minimum quilting charge is $50. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum.
  • Batting
I use and stock Quilters Dream batting in the 70/30 cotton/poly blend and 100% cotton. If you would like polyester, wool batting, bamboo, or eco polyester batting just let me know. I can source it easily and quickly for you. Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price. I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls of batting except in the case of special orders. I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 5" margin) and charge per inch. For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I would cut 65" of the batting of your choice. 65" of 100% cotton select loft @ $0.45/in = $29.25 65" of 70/30 cotton/poly blend @ $0.40/in = $26.00
  • Thread
I charge for thread by the number of bobbins used on each quilt to keep my quilting costs down. My thread charge is $10.00 for quilts using 1-4 bobbins, $15.00 for 5-8 bobbins and $20.00 for 9+ bobbins. A typical queen size quilt (90"x 108") with a medium density quilting design usually takes about 5-8 bobbins. I use only high-quality quilting threads - OMNI by Superior Threads and Glide by Filtec. My personal style attempts to match or blend thread color with the lighter areas of your quilt. But this is YOUR quilt! Let me know if you have a preference on thread color.
  • Shipping
When shipping your top and backing to me I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of plastic bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a USPS approved box/container. Make sure the package is securely taped and labeled clearly. For those of you living in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, I live in South Minneapolis and you are welcome to drop your quilt top and backing off in person. I will send your quilt back to you via USPS Priority mail using flat rate when possible because it's the most economical. Priority mail comes with $50 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf.
  • Payment
After the work is complete, I will email you an invoice. As soon as I receive payment, I will mail your projects back to you. Payment is accepted in the form of cash, paypal,or check.
